POSCA is a water-based paint marker, not an ink marker. That distinction determines everything it can do. Where a standard marker deposits transparent dye that disappears on dark surfaces and beads on smooth ones, POSCA deposits opaque water-based pigment that is vivid on black card, visible on dark wood, adhesive on glass and metal, non-toxic in use and water-resistant once dry. WATER-BASED PAINT — NOT INK

• Opaque on dark surfaces — white POSCA on black card is bright white; dye-based inks are transparent and disappear on dark backgrounds

• Layerable — once the first colour is dry, paint over with a second; correct mistakes with a light opaque colour
